1. Who you are dealing with
Cited is operated by Aaron Morais, a sole proprietorship based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada (“Cited,” “we”). “You” means the person or business using the service.
2. Business use, eligibility and authority
Cited is sold to businesses for business purposes, not to consumers for personal, family or household use. You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding agreement. If you use Cited for a company, you confirm you are authorized to bind it. You may scan only public websites, and only for a legitimate business purpose. Nothing in these terms limits rights that applicable law gives you and that cannot be waived.
3. The service
Cited captures timestamped AI and search-surface observations, audits public business information, and prepares prioritized recommendations or drafts. Generated answers and web data can be incomplete, inaccurate, unavailable, or change without notice. We track ChatGPT Search, Gemini and Google AI Overviews. The methodology page is part of these terms.
Legal outputs require review by the responsible professional for the applicable jurisdiction. Cosmetic-surgery reports are audit-only and do not generate medical advice or treatment, outcome, recovery, or cost copy.
4. No guaranteed outcome
Cited does not guarantee inclusion, ranking, traffic, leads, revenue, review outcomes, publication by third parties, or any specific score change. Reports are informational and do not replace legal, licensing, safety, tax, accessibility, or professional advice. You are responsible for reviewing facts and drafts before publication.
5. Free scans and acceptable use
Free scans are subject to email, domain, network, provider-balance, and budget limits. You may not evade limits, automate abusive volume, submit private-network targets, interfere with the service, probe for vulnerabilities, scrape private reports, impersonate another business, or use Cited for unlawful or deceptive conduct. We may delay, reject, or remove scans to protect the service and third parties.
6. Subscriptions, renewal and cancellation
Starter costs $49 CAD / month or $490 CAD / year. Pro costs $129 CAD / month or $1,290 CAD / year. Base prices are in Canadian dollars and exclude sales tax; where we are required to charge GST/HST or another tax, it is added at checkout. Visitors outside Canada may see, and pay, a fixed local price in USD, EUR, GBP, AUD or NZD, set by their location or the currency selector; Stripe may convert other currencies at checkout. A local-price subscription renews in that currency. The final plan, interval, currency, taxes and total are shown before you pay.
Automatic renewal: your plan renews automatically at the end of each monthly or annual period, at the then-current price, until you cancel. You authorize us, through Stripe, to charge your payment method on each renewal. Stripe emails a receipt for every charge.
Cancelling: cancel any time with “Manage plan” on your report, which opens the Stripe billing portal, or by emailing us. Cancellation stops the next renewal; you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for.
Refunds: payments are non-refundable once the period they pay for has begun, including partial periods and unused time on annual plans. We refund duplicate charges and charges made in error; email us within 60 days. Nothing here limits a refund the law requires.
Failed payments and price changes: if a charge fails, Stripe retries it and access may pause until it is paid. We will give at least 30 days' email notice before a price increase applies to your plan, and you can cancel before it does.
A promotion applies only when its code, eligible plan and interval, start and end times, and redemption capacity are valid at checkout. Stripe's accepted checkout total controls. Expired, paused, exhausted, or ineligible promotions do not create a right to a discount.
7. What each plan includes
Starter covers 1 business and 1 market, 12 tracked questions, 3 AI surfaces, weekly rescans, history, change alerts, and all policy-safe fix packs. Pro covers up to 3 markets and 36 tracked or custom questions, with exports and priority support. Items that require a fact, permission, or human judgment may remain marked for confirmation. Neither plan includes publishing, legal or medical review, listing ownership, or guaranteed third-party acceptance.
8. Implementation help
Paid plans are self-serve. If we agree in writing to help implement fixes, that help is limited to the agreed scope and subject to compatible collaborator access, customer approval, and the capabilities of the customer's platform. A larger redesign, migration, custom integration, paid placement, photography, legal or medical copy approval, or emergency turnaround requires separate written scope.
Listing and citation work means research, correction preparation, and reasonable submission or outreach. Publishers control access, review, timing, acceptance, and display. Cited cannot guarantee a third party will change or publish anything. We will ask for role-based collaborator access where possible and will not ask you to paste passwords into Cited.
9. Customer responsibilities
You are responsible for accurate business facts, required licenses, claims, prices, service areas, accessibility, privacy notices, and final approval. You will respond to confirmation requests and maintain backups. Delays in access or approval may delay work and do not extend a billing period automatically.
10. Content and licenses
You retain rights in material you submit. You grant Cited a limited license to host, process, reproduce, and transform that material as needed to provide and secure the service. As between you and Cited, you may use the report drafts created specifically for your business after payment, subject to any rights in third-party material and your duty to verify them.
11. Third-party services
Cited depends on AI, search, hosting, database, email, payment, DNS, and website-platform providers. Their services, data, policies, and availability are outside Cited's control. You must comply with the terms of platforms you authorize us to access.
12. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate access for material breach, abuse, fraud, legal risk, nonpayment, or risk to the service or others. You may stop using Cited and cancel paid renewal at any time, and download or delete your data from Settings as described in our privacy policy. Provisions that by their nature should survive will survive termination, including payment, ownership, disclaimers, and liability terms.
13. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Cited is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, or uninterrupted availability. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Cited will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or lost-profit damages.
Cited's aggregate liability arising from the service will not exceed the amount you paid Cited in the three months before the event giving rise to the claim, or 100 Canadian dollars if you paid nothing. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so portions of this section may not apply.
14. Governing law and general terms
These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, and the courts of Toronto, Ontario have jurisdiction over any dispute. We may transfer these terms and your account to a successor business, such as a corporation formed to carry on Cited, and will tell you if we do. If part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest still applies. These terms, the privacy policy and the methodology page are the whole agreement about the service.
15. Changes and contact
We may update these terms. Material changes apply going forward and will be announced by email or in the product at least 30 days before they affect a paid plan. Questions may be sent to morais.aaron@gmail.com.
