Plans and billing
How do promo codes and referrals work?
When we run an offer, the banner says its discount and end date, and it applies automatically at checkout. Paying customers get a referral link: a friend who signs up gets their first month free, and you get a month free when they pay for their second.
Promotions
Sometimes we run an offer. When we do, the banner at the top of the site says the discount, which plans it covers, and the exact date it ends. Most of the time there is no offer, and the prices on the pricing page are what you pay.
There's no code to type. If you came from the banner or from a link with the code in it, the discount is applied when you start checkout, and Stripe shows it before you pay.
- Promotions apply to monthly plans only.
- They apply at checkout. We can't add one to a plan that has already started.
- An expired or used-up promotion can't be honoured, even if you still have the link.
Referrals: give a month, get a month
Once you're on a paid plan, Settings shows your referral link. When someone new signs up through it on a monthly plan, their first month is free. When they pay for their second month, you get one month of your plan free as a credit on your next bill. You can earn up to 12 free months.
- Referrals are for new customers who have never had a plan.
- You can't refer your own business, or another account that shares your email, website or card.
- One discount per checkout: a referral replaces any other offer.
- If your friend picks a yearly plan, they don't get the free month, but you still get your credit once they pay.
