Scans and results

Why do my results change from week to week?

AI answers are not fixed. The same question can get a different answer an hour later, from a different place, or after a model update. A scan is a dated sample, so the trend over several weeks matters more than any single number.

If you ask ChatGPT the same question twice, you can get two different lists of businesses. That isn't a bug in the scan; it's how these tools work. Answers shift with:

  • the exact wording of the question
  • the time of day and the date
  • where the question is asked from
  • model updates the AI companies ship without notice
  • what the AI finds on the live web that day

We keep the questions and the market the same every week, so the comparison is as fair as we can make it. Even so, one check is a snapshot. A move of one or two answers between checks is normal. That's why a change only counts once it holds for 2 checks in a row, and the app shows how often each engine named you over your recent checks: see Named in X of Y checks.

Location

Every question names your city. Gemini and Google searches also run from your city or region where the provider supports it. ChatGPT Search runs at country level with your city in the question. So the answers may not match exactly what you see on your own phone, which is also shaped by your history and location.

Every answer in your report is saved word for word with the time it was captured, so you can always check what was actually said.
